Company History

In 1967 a group of prominent Arizona automobile dealers established Trans City as a credit life insurance company. For the past 40 years Trans City has prided itself on providing superior customer service to Arizona auto dealerships. Trans City Expanded its services in 1986 forming a service contract company. Then in 1988, Trans City Insurance Companies created Trans City Casualty. In 1990, Trans City added a sales agency designed to serve accounts, providing administrative assistance as well as sales team education.

Today, the Trans City brand continues to mean excellence. The Companies’ cornerstones are to provide the best service, quality products, and professional integrity to our customers. Trans City Insurance Companies are dedicated to growth in revenues and profit, not only for our shareholders but also the profit, growth and development for all of Trans City participating dealers.

Trans City continues to expand its relationships with more than 100 Arizona auto dealerships.

Meet the Team

Michael E. Jones

CEO/President

Mike Jones began his career in the Automobile industry in 1976 selling new and used Chevrolets. In 1979, Mike joined General Motors Acceptance Corporation where he worked for 20 years. Since 1998, Mike has served as Trans City’s CEO/President maintaining the company’s mission that has been in place since 1967; to serve Arizona auto dealers.

Marty Harvey

Chief Operating Officer

Marty Harvey is Chief Operating Officer for all the Trans City Insurance Companies, as well as, the Secretary/Assistant Treasurer. She is head of Financial Accounting and Compliance, Human Resources, and is also assistant to the President and CEO. Marty also oversees the day-to-day operations of the companies. She has been with Trans City since 1987.

Cheryl A. Adams

Vice President of Claims

Cheryl has been a member of the Trans City team for the past 22 years. She started as a Claims Representative and soon after began supervising claims for credit life and disability, duties in which she still maintains today. As Office Manager, Cheryl oversees the accounting, product contract remittance, cancellations and claims in all of Trans City Life’s different departments. She has continued her education during her tenure with Trans City, obtaining several certifications in insurance through the Life Office Management Association (LOMA). Cheryl has a Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration, and is currently working toward a national Bookkeeping certification.

Dan Hulsey

Vice President

Dan Hulsey started in the automobile business in 1973 as a lot attendant for a local dealership. He spent the next 22 years working his way through the different departments until he became the dealership’s General Manager. In 1995, that dealership closed and Dan had the opportunity to join Trans City Insurance Agency. Today, Dan is the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Eileen Ember

Business Development Manager

Eileen has been calling on Arizona dealerships since 1983. Her career started in Tucson, as a credit investigator for GMAC. In 1990, she was transferred to the Phoenix branch as an F&I Specialist. In January of 1999, Eileen took her career in another direction, when she was hired as a Business Development Manager for Trans City Insurance Agency. Since then, Eileen has been serving Trans City dealerships across the Valley. Her product knowledge and professionalism has helped Trans City maintain its high standards of serving Arizona auto dealers. She is AFIP certified and Trans City’s resident contract specialist.

Sharon Paul

Claims Administrator

Sharon started working as a Service Administrative Assistant for Trans City in 1994. Since then, she has worked in many other positions in various departments. For the past two years, she has served as a claims adjustor for Trans City Service Corporation, responsible for customer and dealer relations as well as contract administration. Sharon has continued her education while at Trans City through L.O.M.A., earning associates certificates for Customer Service, Insurance Agency Administration, and Insurance Regulatory Compliance.

Bill Mesa

Vice President

Bill has over 35 years experience in the Property & Casualty Industry, with the last 16 years concentrated on workers' compensation insurance. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, an Associate Designation in Property & Casualty (AU) and a Certified Workers Compensation Professional (CWCP) from the University of Michigan, and NCCI certified in Data Reporting Management. Prior to Bill’s current position as Vice President of Trans City Casualty Company’s workers compensation program, he was Regional Vice President of Argonaut Insurance Company’s Midwest & Southwest Regions. Bill has been with Trans City Insurance Company since January of 2003.

Justin Brummer

Business Development Manager

Justin has almost a decade of account management experience. He joined the Trans City team as a business development manager in August of 2006. It was an easy transition for him, as he values serving customers to the best of his abilities. Justin travels thousands of miles each week serving Trans City dealerships across the state. His travels stretch from Nogales to Flagstaff and from Show Low to Yuma. Justin also reaches out to make new relationships with rural dealerships and also services most of Trans City’s motorcycle dealerships.

Ann Hawkins

Senior Claim Adjuster

Ann has been a Senior Claims Adjustor for over 25 years handling Arizona and other States jurisdictions. Her background also includes processing benefits for employees while on Short Term and Long Term Disability. Her experience included positions in various Third Party Claims Administration Companies, insurance companies and the largest Workers’ Compensation insurance carrier in Arizona. She is an active member of the Arizona Workers’ Compensation Claims Association and she is a past Vice President of that organization. Ann volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House and for AYSO Soccer. Ann joined Trans City Casualty in August 2020.

Paul South

Vice President

Paul South began his career at Trans City more than 20 years ago. Today Paul manages the Information Technology department for Trans City. Paul is responsible for adapting the Companies’ computer systems and making them relevant for the constantly evolving insurance industry.

Dan Winkhaus

Business Development Manager

Dan Winkhaus joined the Trans City Sales team as a Business Development Manager and F&I Trainer in January of 2012. Dan has nearly 15 years of experience in auto sales and finance. Dan began his career on the sales floor of a dealership and he quickly learned the ropes moving into sales management and finance management. Dan’s career then moved him to the corporate world, working for GMAC and Nuvell in F&I sales, lending, and training. Dan is AFIP certified.
